Security Observations
10/27/2026About JumpCloud
JumpCloud is a cloud directory and identity platform for IT teams, combining user and device management, single sign-on, MFA, patch management and Directory Insights event logs, with a Multi-Tenant Portal for managed service providers.
What the JumpCloud MCP Server for admins does
JumpCloud's MCP Server for admins connects ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and VS Code to your JumpCloud organization so administrators can view, edit and modify much of it from their AI tools. Admins can find users, admins, devices, groups, SSO applications and Directory Insights events; grant or revoke access, reset passwords and MFA, send device security commands and change group membership or SSO app access; and perform these actions in bulk.
JumpCloud is explicit that the MCP is not a replacement for its APIs or existing automations. It offers structured tools designed for AI clients rather than the entire API, focused on user and device management, Directory Insights and applications and user groups. It supports tools only, no resources or prompts, and Streamable HTTP only. A separate MCP Server for users serves end users rather than admins.

How to connect
- Endpoint
- https://mcp.jumpcloud.com/v1
- Transport
- streamable-http
- Auth
- API key or OAuth
First an admin turns on MCP Server for admins under Settings > JumpCloud AI. Then connect to https://mcp.jumpcloud.com/v1 in the US, mcp.eu.jumpcloud.com/v1 in the EU or mcp.in.jumpcloud.com/v1 in India, signing in with OAuth or sending an admin API key as an Authorization Bearer header. MSPs append ?organizationId= with the child org ID. Our monitor sees the sign-in requirement.
